  • Where will the classes be held?

    Classes will be held in the classroom at Botanically Rooted, 1024 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC

  • Do I need experience with aromatherapy or essential oils to take the course?

    No. This is a beginning level class and no prior experience is needed.

  • Are the classes at Wholistic Aromatics Institute the same classes that were prevously held at Botanically Rooted?

    No. The program at Wholistic Aromatics Institute is completely new, updated and in a different format. If you have additional questions or concerns, or if you took classes previously through Botanically Rooted or Asheville Aromatics, you can email us at

  • Will there be homework?

    To receive certification for the course you will need to complete 10 case studies outside of class.

  • Do I get CE hours if I take the Foundations of Therapeutic Aromatherapy Course?

    Yes. All of the instructors at Wholistic Aromatics Institute are approved providers through NCBTMB. We are currently submitting the new curriculum for approval and will update the page as soon as it is approved. We believe the program will grant around 65 CE hours for massage therapists. All CE hours will be granted on the final day of class.

  • What happens if I can't make it to one of the scheduled classes?

    To receive the certification and/or the CE hours for the program, you must attend each class. We do understand that unexpected events occur so if you do need to miss a class you have a couple of options. We will be recording the classes for our reference so if you miss a few hours, you can watch the video. Please keep in mind these will be unedited videos and may take a few weeks before they are ready to be viewed. If you need to miss an entire weekend, the best option will be to pick up the classes the next time they are offered. We will be running the program again starting in August 2020. Once the program is online, currently scheduled to be released in fall 2020, you can make up the hours or switch to the online version. We will do our best to work with you we just ask that you keep us informed and notified in advance if you have a conflict with the dates.

  • Do you offer refunds on the course?

    If you cancel before December 18, 2019, you can receive a full refund. After that date, your tuition may be applied towards the next run of the program that starts in August 2020 or towards the online version scheduled to open fall 2020. You can check out our complete terms and conditions at

  • Is the program approved through NAHA?

    We are currently submitting the curriculum to NAHA (National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists) for approval as Level 1 certification and we will update the page as soon as possible

Who are my Instructors?

Trey Anderson

Trey Anderson is a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist (NAHA Level 3), Certified Aromatherapy Educator, Licensed Massage Therapist, Polarity Therapist, Energy Intuitive and Meridian Massage Practitioner. Trey has been studying energy medicine and energetics for 25 years and he began his study of Aromatherapy in massage school. Trey taught massage at The Charleston School of Massage in Charleston, SC from 2005-2007 and has been teaching Aromatic Chemistry at Botanically Rooted for the past several years. He opened his own school, Asheville Aromatics, in 2015 after completing Aromatherapy Teacher Training and he is excited to merge that school along with his Energetic Aromatherapy (Aromagetics) classes into the program at Wholistic Aromatics Institute. Trey’s specialties include Subtle Aromatherapy, Energetics, Aromatic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology.

Kimberly Seymour

Kimberly S. Seymour is a Clinical Aromatherapist and Co-Owner of Botanically Rooted, LLC, a private practice in Greensboro, NC since 2009, specializing in integrative therapies. She was introduced to Aromatherapy while working on her three year Herbalism apprenticeship in 2006 with Arlene Bailey in the Daughters of the Earth Herbalism Program. Kimberly continues to educate herself in the field of Aromatherapy and Herbalism, taking several classes a year and attending conference’s to keep her updated in the field. Kimberly also has an extensive background in Lactation Education and as a Peer Counselor; she was the Program Manager for the Randolph County WIC Breastfeeding Program in NC for 13 years. Kimberly also worked as a Certified Personal Trainer, Aerobics instructor and Nutrition Assistant for several local fitness establishments in Louisiana and North Carolina. Kimberly has a passion for teaching and counseling clients to assist them in reaching their goals of optimal health, happiness, and finding their own awesomeness. She currently is teaching to groups, businesses, hospital settings, spiritual leaders and lay persons. Her teaching/education specialties include; Pet Aromatherapy, Mother/Baby/ Pregnancy, Birth & Lactation Aromatherapy, Perfumery and Custom Blending, and Cleaning with Essential oils and Herbs.

Amber LaBorde

Amber M. LaBorde is a Clinical Aromatherapist and Co-owner of Botanically Rooted, a private practice in Greensboro, NC, specializing in integrative therapies. She was first introduced to Aromatherapy in 2012 and began classes towards her degree in Aromatherapy and Herbalism with The American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2014. She currently teaches to groups, businesses, hospital settings, and lay persons. Her teaching/education specialties include; Fertility/Reproductive Issues, Children, Perfumery and Custom Blending, Essential Oil safety, as well as Cleaning with Essential oils and Herbs. Amber has a passion for education and teaching clients how to use Aromatherapy in their everyday lives alongside other Holistic practices to reach their goals of a healthy, happy, lifestyle. Prior to becoming a Clinical Aromatherapist, Amber worked in the childcare and medical billing professions both of which have served in her specialty areas in the aromatherapy world.
